"It was a dream": Ádám Bogdán reflects on his Bolton Wanderers career, how he moved to Liverpool and why he wishes he could have done more to keep the Whites in the Premier League

In 2007, Bolton Wanderers were at the top of their game.
The Whites were once again pushing for Europe, with Sam Allardyce ready to take Wanderers to new heights. That was, until Big Sam resigned as the season came to a close. Bolton would once again play on the continent, but they would do it without the man who guided them there.
That summer, as the team looked to life under Sammy Lee, the team looked to strengthen with young goalkeeper, Ádám Bogdán being one of the more unknown names to walk through the door.
The 18-year-old Hungarian would spend part of his first two years on-loan with Crewe Alexandra, before going on to be the man who succeeded Jussi Jääskeläinen before going onto make 120 appearances for Bolton.

A lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan, this club is the reason I began my journalism career. Since sitting in the stands as a kid over 20 years ago, I have gone on to work for the likes of the BBC and The Telegraph before everything led me back to here, to the football club I love.
