Bolton Wanderers new US investment may only be minor, but it could open doors for transfer links with sides across Europe.

This summer, Football Ventures and Sharron Brittan, welcomed a minority investment in US backers Tim Leiweke and his daughter, Francesca Bodie. Under the firm Entrepreneur Equity Partners, thy purchased a small stake in the club.

The pair have been in football for some time and it is stated their investment will not affect the clubs day-to-day work, nor see an influx in cash towards the playing squad.

Instead, the pairs interest is in helping Bolton's commercial growth, using their connections and techniques to help that side of the business grow, with the area being the primary concern of their investment.
