On Sunday night, the Republic of Ireland played a Nations League game against Israel in Debrecen, Hungary. Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper, Gavin Bazunu, took no part in the match.
In the build up to this international break, it had been this game that took the headlines in Ireland. With the consistent atrocities going on within Gaza from the Israel Defence Force, the Irish public made their voice heard, urging the Republic of Ireland's football association to not play the game.
The nation's government followed the public, stating that Israel is committing 'genocide', the FAI did not follow suit.
