The Overreaction: Bolton Wanderers 1-5 Middlesbrough - How quality burns

Bolton Wanderers were shown what it takes to compete for a place in the Premier League, as now-table toppers Middlesbrough put five past the Whites at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. Gavin Bazunu did his best to keep the numbers down, but the shear quality of Boro, leaves Steven Schumacher needing to pick his team up again.

Bolton Wanderers were shown just what top Championship quality looks like as Middlesbrough put five past them at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Friday night.

Steven Schumacher's side were on the back foot from the first minute as Boro looked to get things done as quickly as possible. Aiden Morris opened the scoring after a strong move left him unmarked in the box.

It was two in a matter of minutes as Kim Hellberg's side continued to flex their muscles. A sublime move from the the team's frontline saw Championship top scorer Will Lankshear tap home from close range. At this point, Bolton had been stunned by their oppositions quality, but the third was more than preventable.
