"I really wanted to come to Bolton": Theo Bair has his say on the Bolton Wanderers Deadline Day drama

Theo Bair notched his first goal for Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, over a month on from signing for the club on a hectic Deadline Day where fans believed another striker would come through the door.

In an ideal world, most football clubs would love to have all of their transfer business done well before Deadline Day. Unfortunately, things don't always work that way, and the same can be said for Bolton Wanderers.

As it came down to the wire, the Whites were still in the market for a striker. Max Dean was the name long-tipped to come through the door at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. Instead, a number of complications saw Bolton move away from the deal, leaving a return to other candidates as fans waited by their phones.

Theo Bair was a target Wanderers had looked earlier in the summer, but until Deadline Day, they were told that the striker would not leave Auxerre.
