In August of 2018, Bolton Wanderers would begin what would be there final season in the Championship for seven years, and begin a spiral that saw them reach the brink, before a new dawn could truly begin, two divisions below.
Three months prior, Phil Parkinson and his Bolton side had pulled off the unthinkable. With less than ten minutes left, the Whites needed two goals, and results elsewhere to hold on if they wanted to remain in the Championship. David Wheater found the first from close range, as fans alike (me) said don't give us hope.
As the clock ticked down, Mark Howard launched a ball over the top for Adam Le Fondre to chase, a cross into the box, and there was Aaron Wilbraham with a diving header. Pandemonium.
