Points and Prizes: The growing importance of Bolton Wanderers next five games

Bolton Wanderers have come away with four points from a run of three games against sides chasing the Premier League this season. The Whites now head into a five game run where they will have little better opportunity to pick up a solid run of points at this end of the calendar year.

For Bolton Wanderers, their return to the Championship has gone rather well so far. The Whites sit in 18th on 14 points after 12 teams, six off the play-offs and more importantly, six above the bottom three.

Steven Schumacher promised an unapologetic 'have a go' style in the team's crack at the division and that has been the case. Wanderers have taken on every challenge with confidence, more impressively navigating a three-game run that saw them face Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and Middlesbrough, losing just once.

It is clear that the Bolton dressing room is relishing this challenge, but as we enter November, the form that the team has shown, alongside the goal for this season, means points need to start being put on the board.

A lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan, this club is the reason I began my journalism career. Since sitting in the stands as a kid over 20 years ago, I have gone on to work for the likes of the BBC and The Telegraph before everything led me back to here, to the football club I love.
