Bolton Wanderers have picked themselves up before, now they have to do it again and it won't be the last time: Opinion

Bolton Wanderers took a heavy defeat on Friday night as Middlesbrough showed their class, putting five past Steven Schumacher's team. The game represented the first time the Whites truly failed to leave a scratch on their opponents and know the team's bounce back ability faces it's biggest test.

On Friday night, Bolton Wanderers had what was probably their first real 'Welcome to the Championship' moment, as promotion chasing Middlesbrough put five past Steven Schumacher's team.

Now, it was not the first time the Whites have seen the quality of their new division see them end in defeat, but it was the first time where the gulf was so big that Wanderers couldn't even lay a glove on their opposition.

To put it plainly, Bolton were played off the park by a team that looked destined for the Premier League, and there was nothing they could do about it.

Schumacher's team have had some difficult defeats but most have been games where the side have really been in the game.
