The Championship season is almost here for Bolton Wanderers. Whilst no one would deny there is still work to do for Steven Schumacher's side the signings they have already made have gone a long way to showcasing the team they hope to be this season.

The area with the biggest influx has been in defence. Wanderers have made four signings as they look to ensure their back four is ready for the season ahead. The losses of George Johnston and Jordi Osei-Tutu were always going to leave big gaps, but with Bolton determined to improve, the changes had to be made.

One of the defensive recruitments who probably won't make the headlines is Akin Famewo, and yet, he could be one of the most important for the Whites this year.
