Bolton Wanderers finished pre-season with a 1-0 win over Dutch side, NAC Breda. The Whites have only lost once in their summer campaign and whilst results have been positive, the feeling from the stands remains that of nerves, rather than excitement.

There was a lot to like from today's performance, as Ruben Rodrigues scored the only goal of the game, ending his superb pre-tournament campaign. Wins are wins, but this game could have been more at both ends of the pitch. Defensively, Steven Schumacher's team held off waves of attacks as his back four took shape, whilst up top, chances were squandered, displaying the lack of quality and depth at the most important area of the pitch.

Matt Bottomley A lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan, this club is the reason I began my journalism career. Since sitting in the stands as a kid over 20 years ago, I have gone on to work for the likes of the BBC and The Telegraph before everything led me back to here, to the football club I love.
