Josh Sheehan is the heart of this team, so give him the ball: Opinion

Josh Sheehan came into this season with some hype, which the Welsh Wizard has lived up to. The 31-year-old is at the heart of this team and Bolton Wanderers have to prioritise getting him the ball every week if they want to stay in the Championship.

Life in the Championship was never going to be easy for Bolton Wanderers this season. Steven Schumacher's team promised to give it a go the way they want to, and that's been the case and for the most part, it has worked well for the Whites.

The good and the bad come hand in hand, but a lot of the good has gone through one single player - Josh Sheehan.

The 31-year-old has spent the last five years showing that he is worthy of a shot at the Championship and now that he is in England's second division, the midfielder is making it his home.

Sheehan has played every single game for Bolton this season, being integral to everything the team does. Last season, Schumacher stated that he didn't know how it was possible that the Welshman hadn't played in the Championship before, and now he's showing exactly why.

A lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan, this club is the reason I began my journalism career. Since sitting in the stands as a kid over 20 years ago, I have gone on to work for the likes of the BBC and The Telegraph before everything led me back to here, to the football club I love.
