Bolton Wanderers fell just short in South Yorkshire on Tuesday night, losing 3-2 to Sheffield United.
In the crazy game, Steven Schumacher's side took the lead in 30 seconds, Xavier Simons looping the keeper in the box. The lead lasted a matter of minutes, as poor defending allowed Japhet Tanganga to head home a cheap free-kick.
Sheffield United had the better of the first-half but it was Bolton who came out firing in the second. The hard work from Thierry Gale paid off, placing a cross on the head of Sam Dalby to take the lead. Once again, that lead lasted just moments, as Patrick Bamford tapped in at the other end.
