Bolton Wanderers have been dealt a triple blow as they prepare for Bristol City's visit on Saturday.

Ethan Erhahon, John McAtee and Ryan Hardie have now all been ruled of the game with the Robins this weekend.

Erhahon, who has been one of the Whites best performers this season, picked up a thigh strain in the second-half of Wanderers 5-1 defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday night.

McAtee, who featured for Julian Darby's U21 side in their loss against Huddersfield Town earlier in the week alongside Hardie, David Watson and Chris Forino, missed training on Thursday with a knee injury. The full extent of the issue has not yet been diagnosed.

On-loan forward Hardie, who has been utilised from the bench for much of his time with Bolton so far, pulled up with a hamstring issue in the U21 game and could be out for a number of weeks, depending on the severity of the muscle issue.

The trio join Jayden Nelson the injury table. The Canadian winger limped off in another U21 game against Wigan Athletic, having to use crutches to get back the dugout after receiving treatment. The former Toronto FC player remains out until at least the end of November.

Forino, who stepped up his return this week, came away unscathed from his appearance for Darby's side and could return to the squad this weekend.

Steven Schumacher outlined the injuries ahead of Saturday's game.

“Ryan pulled his hamstring in the Under-21s game. He has an issue from Tuesday, so we've had him scanned. He's got some damage in his hamstring." Said the Bolton boss.

“I don't know exactly how long it'll be, but it'll be a little while, which is devastating for him. Every time he feels as though he's right there sprinting at full speed, he's breaking down, which is bad news for him and disappointing for us, so that's an issue.

“John McAtee didn't train today. He has a knee issue that's going on. We don't know what exactly is the cause of it, but he didn't manage to do anything today, so we don't know whether he'll be available. Jayden obviously not fit.

“Ethan is going to be out for a while. He's pulled his thigh, which is disappointing. We'll be a bit thin squad-wise, but we'll deal with it as best as we can.”

Bristol City rule out striker as they sweat Lorent Tolaj fitness

For Wanderers opposition, they have received a mix bag of news ahead of the fixture.

Lorent Tolaj, who suffered a knock in the 0-0 draw with Stoke City, will be a late call as the whether or not he can play on Saturday. The forward has only trained once this week, and Michael Skubala will choose at the last minute on whether or not to risk the player.

Elijah Adebayo, who missed the Robins last game, will remain out for Saturday's game. The former Luton Town striker is expected to miss a number of weeks with an injury.

Rob Dickie, who was not expected to return for another ten days, will be available on Saturday. The defender has recovered quicker than expected, and is now ready to go.
