Bolton Wanderers have been dealt some good news ahead of their Championship clash with Cardiff City, but it will not change the squad that Steven Schumacher has to choose from.
Akin Famewo and Lewis Brunt both limped off in the loss to Millwall, with what was confirmed as hamstring injuries. The pair then missed the midweek matchup with West Ham United but it now appears the the injury that both defenders sustained, is not as bad as first feared.
Brunt and Famewo, who could have missed more than a month after initial scans, join Luca Stephenson, who has not featured since the opening day win over Preston North End, as expected to return after the international break in October.
Bolton went toe-to-toe with West Ham on Tuesday, after Schumacher made seven changes to his team, including the goalkeeper.
What followed was a performance full of energy, with the Wanderers boss believing the fresh changes gave the Whites a better chance to respond and perform in midweek.
“The energy levels were tip-top tonight (Tuesday), as we all saw. And that's why it was important to make seven changes, because these have got better players than us, physically stronger players than us, and if we didn't have that energy level to be able to compete and run and fight for 90 minutes, then it would have been a struggle. It was important that we did get some energy in there, and as I say, some people deserved a chance as well.”Steven Schumacher
Bolton are tipped to make some changes heading into Saturday's early kick-off, but much less than they did on Tuesday.
Many have tipped the matchup with Cardiff as another six-pointer for both sides, and Bolton will be happy to take on the Welsh side with no new injury worries.

Cardiff City sweat the fitness of Rubin Colwill
Brian Barry-Murphy is sweating the fitness of one of his key midfielder's, Rubin Colwill.
Colwill missed the Bluebirds 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Tuesday night, as his brother, Joel, helped secure the Welsh side a point at home.
“Rubin’s ankle wasn’t OK, he didn’t train (on Monday). There was talk of putting him on the bench but I wasn’t sure, if he was to come on, he would be fully fit. So I will try and give him some more time to train, hopefully on maybe Thursday, maybe Friday, and then be available for Saturday.”Brian Barry-MurphyCardiff City Manager
Cardiff are still searching for their first Championship win, after winning promotion with Bolton in May this year.
The Bluebirds sit above Wanderers on goal difference, having only lost two games, compared with the Whites four.
Elsewhere, Will Fish will definitely miss Saturday's game for the opposition, with his return scheduled for after the international break. Dylan Lawlor and Calum Chambers are both doubts after they, like Colwill, missed Cardiff's game in midweek.
